Dance With Me!

Age Group: 1.5 yrs. old by Oct. 1st
Description: This is a pre-ballet class for students ages 1.5-3 years old. Students must be 1.5 years old by October 1st to be eligible. This class instructs students, along with the assistance of a parent or guardian, to explore the different rhythms of music, while learning to move their bodies, listen, and follow directions. Students learn movements and motor skills, through both song and dance along with a variety of props to help stimulate their imaginations.
Required Attire: Pink Leotard with Skirt attached, Plain Pink Tights, Pink Leather Ballet Slippers

Pre-Ballet, Creative Movement & Tap

Age Group:3 -4 yrs. old (Must be 3 by Oct. 1st)
Description: This is a one-hour pre-ballet and creative movement class for 3-4-year-olds. Students must be 3 years old by October 1st to be eligible. For the first 45 minutes, students will use their imaginations to learn different musical rhythms, proper body position, and basic ballet terminology, exercises, and steps through song and dance. For the last 15 minutes of class there will be an introduction to basic tap steps and terminology.
Required Attire: For girls is a Pink Leotard with Skirt attached, pink tights, pink ballet slippers- tan tap shoes. For boys, black shorts, white t-shirt, black ballet slippers-tan tap shoes

Pre-School Acro

Age Group: 3 -4 yrs. old (Must be 3 by Oct. 1st)
Description: Pre-school acrobatics is a 30 minute non-recital class for 3 and 4-year-olds that can be taken in addition to or in place of our pre-ballet and creative movement classes. Students learn basic acrobatics skills and terminology as well as exercises to increase strength, flexibility, and coordination in a fun and creative environment.

Jr Combo Classes

Age Group: 5 yrs. old by Oct. 1st
Description: Beginner tap, ballet, jazz, hip hop and acrobatics class for 5-6 year-olds. Students must be 5 years old by October 1st and in kindergarten to be eligible. Students take a 30 minute class in each subject . Various versions of combo classes are offered during the week.
Required Attire:Pink Leotard with Skirt attached, Plain Pink Tights, Pink Leather Ballet Slippers, Tan Tap Shoes, White Acro Slippers, tan leather jazz shoes black converse with white soles for hip hop. Boys wear black shorts, white t-shirt, tan tap and acro shoes and black ballet slippers with additional shoes listed above.

Ballet Classes

Age Group: First Grade and Up
Description: We offer beginner, intermediate and advanced levels of ballet classes. These lessons are designed for the student to learn the art of classical ballet. The instructors incorporate elements from the Royal Academy of Dance or RAD curriculum in each of the levels. All classes put an emphasis of the joys of dancing along with good posture, poise, musicality and strong ballet technique.

Required Attire:

• Royal Blue Leotard, skirt is optional, canvas ballet shoes, for all first year ballet students and up
• Black Leotards, skirt is optional, canvas ballet shoes, for all Ballet technique classes

Pointe Classes

Age Group: At the discretion of the Ballet Instructor
Description: The technique of performing ballet movement on the tips of the toes. Only students with the recommendation of the ballet instructor who possess strong ballet technique and who are currently enrolled in a ballet class will be permitted to enroll in our pointe classes.
Required Attire: Same as Ballet

Lyrical Dance Classes

Age Group: Pre-requisite: 2 consecutive years of Ballet
Description: Lyrical dance classes teach a contemporary dance style incorporating ballet and jazz technique. This form of dance allows the students to express their emotions while keeping classical technique.
Required Attire: Any color leotard and tights and tan canvas lyrical shoes

Tap Dance Classes

Age Group: First Grade and Up
Description: We offer beginner, intermediate and advanced tap dance classes. Rhythm, timing and tap terminology are taught in every level. Dance combinations are put together with music from Broadway tunes to the contemporary music of today.
Required Attire: Any color leotard and tights-  Tan tap shoes

Jazz Dance Classes

Age Group: First Grade and Up
Description: We offer beginner, intermediate and advanced levels of jazz dance classes. It is a contemporary form of dance working on extensions and new moves to the latest music with our talented instructors’ our styles.
Required Attire: Any Color Leotard and Tights, Unitard, or Biker Shorts Shoes, tan canvas jazz shoes for competition students, leather for recreational students

Hip-Hop

Age Group: 6 & up
Description: This class is Street style dancing with a jazz flair. This style of dance is often seen on MTV in the reality show “America Best Dance Crew” and the TV reality show “So You Think You Can Dance…”. It is wildly popular today and our instructors add their own style and high energy to the class.
Required Attire: Any Color Leotard and Tights, Unitard, or Biker Shorts, black low top converse sneakers with white soles

Musical Theater

Age Group: Age 6 & Up
Description: This is a class that focuses on dance that is commonly used in stage theater/ musical productions.
Required Attire: Any Color Leotard and Tights, Unitard, or Biker Shorts

Acro Classes

Age Group: First Grade and Up
Description: We offer beginner, intermediate and advanced levels of acrobatics. In our acro classes, students are taught basic tumbling and tricks with a strong emphasis on correct form. The tumbling and tricks are choreographed with other styles of dance to music to form a routine. Our approach is based on the individual ability of the student. (Required for all students – $15.00 insurance fee.)
Required Attire: Any Color Leotard and Tights, Unitard, or Biker Shorts- White Acrobatic shoes

Beginner Aerial Silks Dance Classes

Age Group: 5 years and older
Description: Aerial silks is aerial acrobatics while hanging from a special fabric. Students will learn how to use the fabric to climb, wrap, suspend and swing. Our aerial silks classes will teach you this elegant, beautiful style of dance!
Required Attire: Leggings to ankle, leotard and bring long sleeved shirt, bare feet

Contortion

Age Group: 7 years and up with one year of Acro instruction
Description: In Contortion class, Acro students will learn body bending using their own flexibility.
Required Attire: Any type of form fitting dancewear, bare feet

Special Acro Note
The only level that will use mats in the recital is Kinderdance. Not all Kinderdance acro classes will be held in the acro room.
